When the Spanish explorers disembarked at Tabasco an Verva on April 21st 1519 BC, the Aztec life would be changed for ever. When the Spanish explorers first encounted Tenochtitlan the Aztecs were fooled they believed that the Spanish military leader, Hernan Cortes, was the great god Quetzalcoatl. The Spanish took advantage of this Aztec belief and conquered Mexico within two years. By 1521, the Aztec culture was officially eradicated and a new culture, with parts of Aztec culture and parts of Spanish culture had been formed. Both the Aztecs and the Spanish acclimatized to each other's ways of life, which there ended up being great changes to both cultures. One of the things that stayed the same was the government , except a new form of hierarchy was formed. Although the conquistadors allowed both cultures to adopt new thing, they were still forced to follow Christianity.
Government is one of the most important elements required to create a truly organized civilization. Consequently, the government is the first to change when another nation attempts to overthrow society. This however, was not the case for the Aztecs even after the empire was conquered by the Spanish.
When the Spanish arrived they brought with them a bunch of diseases such as small pocks, measles and influenza. Because the Spanish were immune to these diseases and the Aztec's weren't. This meant that the Aztec's would catch this disease and become weak and forcing them to lose the battles between them. Although the Aztec's captured and sacrificed many of the Spanish, the Spanish resulted in taking over the capital city Tenochtitlan.
